We are a two-person dev team creating an open source 3D game engine NcEngine in C++ and Vulkan. We started NcEngine in 2019 after getting frustrated with commercial game engines deprecating features we depended on, as well as having a strong desire to know the entire game development process from ECS to rendered pixel.
Five years later, and we have a great little engine that we recently used to make our first published game (Scootin' Steve and Downy Dave: Origin), made in two weeks for the Pirate Software Game Jam (#14).
Check out our YouTube channel for regular videos on C++, graphics programming, game dev, 3D modeling, texturing, and everything in between.
Cal is our C++ wizard who has gone from basic C++ 98 knowledge up to now having a goal of finding something he can propose to the C++ Standard's committee.
Jaremie has gone from not being able to write a proper shader in Unity to having built a Vulkan renderer from scratch. It's been a wild ride and we'd love to take you along with us.
